Bon Secours – Mercy Health St. Charles Hospital is looking for temporary General Surgery Locum Coverage from December 20 2024 – January 5 2025.

Job Details:
-Reason for Coverage: Current Surgeon will be out of the country during these dates-Practice Setting: Hospital Based General Surgery and Level 3 Trauma Center Coverage at a Community Hospital. May receive referrals or questions from APP that is working in the Office Practice regarding patients. Primary responsibility is Hospital General Surgery and Level 3 Trauma call coverage general surgery consult coverage at the hospital.-Call Ratio: 15-20 / 24 hours-Average Number of Surgical Cases Per Day: 10-Trauma Level/Designation: Level 3
-Annual ER Volume: 27000
-Documentation System/EMR: Epic
-Number of Operating Rooms: 10-Number of General Surgeons in Practice: 1-Description of OR Staff: Experienced well trained OR staff. Skilled at Robotic Surgical Procedures as well as all General Surgery Procedures.
-Patient Age Demographic: Primarily Adults age 18 and over. Pediatric and Adolescent patients are sent to the Childrens hospital that is near by.

General Surgical Cases ADULT General Surgical Cases TRAUMA Central Line Insertion PA Catheter Placement Chest Tube Insertion Vascular Access Devices Cholecystectomy Hernioplasty
Additional Procedures Required or Preferred:
appendectomies bowel resections trauma care for perforations or lacerations of internal organs.
