Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Advanced Practice Physician Assistant to join our dynamic surgical team at a leading medical center in Binghamton, NY. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist surgeons in the operating room, providing direct surgical care and support during procedures.
- Conduct pre-operative and post-operative patient assessments, including history taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic testing.
- Develop and implement patient care plans in collaboration with the surgical team.
- Perform minor surgical procedures and wound care management under the supervision of a surgeon.
- Educate patients and their families on surgical procedures, post-operative care, and follow-up plans.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care, surgical cases, and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Active New York State license or eligibility to obtain licensure.
- BLS and ACLS certification required.
- Strong clinical skills with a focus on surgical care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Physician Assistant in a surgical setting.
- Experience in a high-volume hospital or medical center.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
