Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Advanced Practice Physician Assistant to join our dynamic surgical team at a leading medical center in Binghamton, NY. Key Responsibilities:

• Assist surgeons in the operating room, providing direct surgical care and support during procedures.
• Conduct pre-operative and post-operative patient assessments, including history taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic testing.
• Develop and implement patient care plans in collaboration with the surgical team.
• Perform minor surgical procedures and wound care management under the supervision of a surgeon.
• Educate patients and their families on surgical procedures, post-operative care, and follow-up plans.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care, surgical cases, and best practices.
• Ensure compliance with all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Current certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• Active New York State license or eligibility to obtain licensure.
• BLS and ACLS certification required.
• Strong clinical skills with a focus on surgical care.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Physician Assistant in a surgical setting.
• Experience in a high-volume hospital or medical center.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
