As a key member of the Neuro ICU team, you will work alongside top neurology specialists to manage complex neurocritical cases, contributing to the recovery and well-being of critically ill patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive care to critically ill patients in the Neuro ICU, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management.
  • Collaborate with attending physicians, neurosurgeons, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Perform and interpret diagnostic tests, including imaging and lab results, to monitor patient progress and adjust treatment as necessary.
  • Assist in neurological procedures and emergency interventions as required.
  • Participate in daily rounds, providing input on patient care and contributing to team decision-making.
  • Educate patients and their families about conditions, treatments, and recovery processes to ensure informed decisions and support.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient encounters, care plans, and outcomes in the electronic medical record system.
  • Stay current with advancements in neurocritical care through ongoing professional development and participation in relevant training and educational opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Current licensure as a Physician Assistant in the state of New York.
  • Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • ACLS and BLS certification required.
  • Strong knowledge of neurocritical care, including experience in managing neurological emergencies and complex cases.

Preferred Experience:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience working in a Neuro ICU or similar critical care setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to patient-centered care.
  • Experience with electronic medical records, particularly Epic.
